These compact and cost-effective multifunctional devices are very powerful, produce high-quality printing and can be accommodated easily in a small office set up. The iR1024 series can perform various functions like photocopying, printing, scanning and sending faxes. All the models of this series have a duplex automatic feeder to achieve double side printing. Moreover, they are fully networked so that many people can be connected to the machine at a time helping to reduce the total cost.

These devices can automatically switch off when not in use and are fully operational again within 5 seconds. Thus, working with these devices is a great way to work in an energy-saving mode and help in power conservation.

<!--–>This had to happen sooner rather than later. Office environments have changed so much over the past few years as office automation products have become more sophisticated. Firstly, from standalone single-purpose office equipment, we have moved into the era of multi-function products. So, a photocopier can not only copy, but also print, scan and fax; or a printer can not only print, but also copy, scan and fax.. and so on and so forth. Then, these products transformed into critical document management systems, as they had the ability to electronically store documents.

It is only logical, therefore, that these products can now be connected to the office network wirelessly. For example, a person sitting in one corner of the office will be able to give an instruction to the photocopier in another part of the office to copy specific set of documents that are either already stored by copier or have been sent to the copier across the wireless network.

Such WiFi enabled photocopiers that be seamlessly integrated to the office network are now available — and mean significant boost to productivity in the office.

If ever your office photocopier breaks down, then there is a much simpler choice to help you with your copying besides going through a “scan-save-open-print” routine. The solution is in fact, a free-to-download software named “Photocopier”.

Just a little over 1MB in size, this software from Nico Cuppen Software requires just a printer and a TWAIN-compliant scanner to generate copies of documents. As Ian Harac writes in his review on PC World, “You plonk paper on your scanner, you hit the ‘copy’ button on the photocopier program, and it automagically scans your document and sends it to your printer! No scan, save, open, print hassle–point and click all the way. ”

Obviously, the free-to-use copier software doesn’t offer too many features and functions, but then it is more than handy to solve some temporary/ short-term copier issues. Don’t expect of course to be able to do away with your requirements for a copier, particularly if you are likely to need to copy more than a few pages each month.

Lexmark International has introduced the Lexmark X658 monochrome laser multifunction product (MFP). The new product is smaller in size, but robust in design and prints at great speed. Moreover, the compact MFP saves considerable space in the office.

This new MFP is an extended part of the Lexmark X650 Series of monochrome laser MFPs and is targeted at the high-growth A4 paper size market.

The sale of A4 MFPs is growing faster than those devices targeted at A3 tabloid-size, owing to underlying qualities like cost, space and time saving ability. In fact, use of an A4 device can help save customers up to 25 % in the total ownership costs for the machine which really depends on monthly page volume.

The X658 also occupies lesser space than a typical A3 device and its space-saving design also enables the users with time-saving finishing options and workflow solutions. Moreover, the device can give 55 prints, photoccopies or scans per minute with some models having the StapleSmart II to staple multiple sets of documents also. The MFP also features a large 80 GB hard drive capacity and input capacity for 2300 sheets.

With the current credit crunch and banks/ financial institutions becoming increasingly reluctant to dole out funds for office equipment financing purposes, chances are that some of the leading, cash-rich equipment manufacturers themselves have to offer the funds to facilitate sales.

The trend appears to be catching on in some parts of the world at least, as this article shows, with companies like HP and Xerox leading the way. In fact, more than two-thirds of Xerox’s revenues in the last fiscal year reportedly came from their equipment financing/leasing business.

Of course, not all companies have the financial wherewithal to offer equipment leasing; and some have opted out of the business having burnt their fingers previously. But overall, cash-rich companies certainly seem to be in the best position to offer the much-needed financing that will continue to move not-so-cheap products such as large, multi-function copiers.

So, if you are looking to buy a copier and wondering where to get the funds to do so, check out the lease financing options that may be available from the manufacturer himself.

In a survey of office workers by Industry Analyts, colour printers, copiers and multifunction products (MFPs) from Xerox have been voted as the best compared to similar products from other leading manufacturers. This is the second consecutive year that Xerox products have been acknowledged by office workers. In fact, in the category of “Maintenance and Total Cost of Operation, Xerox colour products bagged the top rating.

The survey was conducted in the form of extensive telephone interviews with results based on nearly 100 verified responses from people who use and manage colour document technology within their organizations.

Xerox color printers and MFPs are used by businesses of all sizes to create high-quality documents to present a professional image and boost sales.

The now ubiquitous photocopier, an indispensable piece of equipment in today’s offices, is now 70 years old. The gadget was invented in 1938 by Chester Carson. To celebrate the 70th year of the device’s birth, leading photocopier and office automation equipment maker Xerox has released images of the first photocopier together with its inventor, reports The Sunday Business Post.

According to the report, the initial pictures depict Carson frustrated and wondering at what appears to be a faulty piece of equipment.

Xerox is credited as the pioneers in photocopiers, so much so that brand Xerox is often used to refer to a photocopy. Now the company resists calling itself a photocopier company and positions itself as a document management technology and services enterprise.

Leasing equipment is becoming an increasingly attractive option, particularly in today’s economic climate. Upfront investments to the tune of several thousand pounds for key office equipment such as a photocopier are something companies try to cut down upon and in such a scenario, equipment leasing is one of the best options available.

Of course, the decision to buy or lease a photocopier must be thought through for cost-effectiveness. Very small organizations with very low volume photocopying requirements are probably better off buying a low-cost photocopier or even a MFP that is capable of copying as well; medium to large organizations that may need several copiers will most likely find leasing a better option. Not only does leasing eliminate the need for a capital investment upfront, the lease amounts being paid for the equipment will generally be inflation-proof as the terms of the lease are agreed in advance.

Another important suggestion for anybody considering leasing a photocopier (or other office equipment for that matter) is to get their requirements absolutely correct and ensure that the equipment that they are choosing will fulfill both their immediate and medium -term [at least for the duration of the lease] requirements.

So, if you are wondering whether to buy or to lease a photocopier and would like to evaluate options, may be you could send requests for quotation to both our photocopier vendors as well as equipment leasing vendors—- we are certain that an informed decision is just a couple of forms away!
